Kings XI Punjab won the toss against Delhi Capitals

KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab won the toss and opted to bowl first against Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals in their opening match of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

The clash between Kings XI and Delhi Capitals is the battle of equals as both sides have failed to clinch the coveted trophy in the last twelve seasons and are determined to lift their maiden title heading into the 13th season of the lucrative T20 tournament.The two sides have faced each other in a total of 24 matches in the IPL, with Kings XI winning 14 of them and Delhi Capitals emerging victorious on 10 occasions.(Image Credits: Twitter/@IPL)




Kagiso Rabada: Hero of the super over

Kagiso Rabada was the star for Delhi in the super over. He dismissed KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal off consecutive deliveries with just 2 runs on the board for Kings XI. Rabada did the job in just three deliveries. 

Chasing just 3 runs to win, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant closed down the victory for the Capitals in what will go down as one of the best IPL thrillers in history. 


Ashwin demolishes his former side

Ravichandran Ashwin, playing against his former side, picked-up a wicket on his very first ball as a Capitals player. He followed it up with another wicket in the same over. Kings XI Punjab - Playing XI

Indian batsman KL Rahul is leading the Kings XI Punjab for the first time this year and the clash against Delhi Capitals in Dubai is his first match in the new role. 

The Punjab-based franchise has decided to go into their opening match of the 13th season of the lucrative T20 tournament with four overseas players namely Glenn Maxwell, Nicholas Pooran, Sheldon Cottrell and Chris Jordan.
