New Delhi: Indian women's team lost a crucial tie against West Indies by three runs in the ICC World Twenty20 on Sunday and with that their hopes to reach the next stage of the coveted event were dashed.

Indian team led by Mithali Raj didn't manage to chase the small total of 114 as they lost the match by three runs in a Group B encounter.

Anuja Patil (26) and Jhula Goswami (25) did show some resistance with the willow but eventually their efforts went in vain.

Earlier, after winning the toss India had decided to bowl and restricted Windies under a below par total.

With the individual score of 47, Stafanie Taylor remained the highest scorer of the match, while Deandra Dottin's three wicket haul made her the pick among the bowlers.
