New Delhi: The National Selection panel is divided over Yuvraj Singh’s inclusion in the squad for the upcoming World Twenty20 championship.
The all-rounder has not played competitive cricket for eight months as he was fighting a rare germ cell cancer but the doctors at the National Cricket Academy certified him as fit. However, sources told Zee News that some selectors are opposing the idea of thrusting him into the team in the current circumstances.
Yuvraj, the man of the tournament in the 2011 World Cup, had last played for India in November 2011 before being diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer.
The World Twenty20 Championship event will be played in Sri Lanka from September 18 to October 7.
