READ: CLASS! Saina Nehwal's impressive reply to 'fan' who mocked her after PV Sindhu's win

New Delhi: PV Sindhu's entry into the women's singles badminton final at Rio gave the country another reason to cheer.

Earlier in the day, Sakshi Malik won India's first medal of the ongoing Olympics. The day however got better when Sindhu dominated her semi-final opponent to secure medal no.2.

Back home in India, the rather unfortunate news of Saina Nehwal's hospitalization trickled in.

The former World No.1 won a bronze at the London Olympics but could not deliver a strong performance this time around due to an injury. 

At a time when Saina, who has brought so much glory for the country, needed support, a 'fan' mocked her with this tweet.

The Hyderabad girl replied with great dignity, leaving the individual totally stunned.

Having realized his mistake, Anshul Sagar apologized to Saina who was gracious enough to accept it.

Sindhu's achievement deserves to be celebrated, but we must not forget the likes of Saina who showed the world that Indians too can play badminton and compete at the highest level.

It was wonderful to see several people rally behind Saina and hitting out at her so-called 'fan'.
