Budget 2021: Smartphone industry seeks more budgetary allocation

The smartphone industry expects major changes in policies that will prove to be beneficial and the government are likely to bring in measures to help boost manufacturing. Industry body India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) has renewed its demand for reducing Goods and Services Tax (GST) for the mobile industry. The industry body sought interest subvention of 5 percent for loans up to Rs 1,000 crore and a credit guarantee of Rs 100 crore.

Sentiment in real estate looks positive for the next 6 months, says report

The sentiment in the real estate industry turned optimistic during October-December 2020, the report said. The sector saw a lift in the market's mood and increased stakeholder expectations of a stronger recovery in the next six months, said Shishir Baijal. Investments in real estate over the recent past reflect positive sentiments on part of investors, domestic as also global, on the resurgence in the Indian economic growth story, Hiranandani said.
