The Kosi Rail Mega Bridge is 1.9 kilometres long and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 516 crores. This bridge is of strategic importance along the India-Nepal border. The Kosi Rail Mega Bridge project was completed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the historic Kosi Rail Mahasetu (mega-bridge) to the nation through video-conference at 12 noon on September 18. The dedication of the Kosi Rail Mahasetu is a watershed moment in the history of Bihar and the entire region connecting to the North East. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate 12 rail projects related to passenger facilities for the benefit of the Bihar.
