Relief to passengers: Indian railways to start counter ticket booking from today

Special train: 54000 passengers buy tickets worth Rs 10 crore through IRCTC
As Indian Railways resumed ticket booking on Monday (May 11, 2020) it sold tickets worth ₹10 crore to 54,000 passengers within hours of opening the portal. The Indian railway has allotted 30 special trains as it resumes operation after almost two months due to the coronavirus scare.

Railway ticket booking: IRCTC website hang as large amount of people log in
Railway and air services will resume in the country from May 12. The railway tickets can only be booked from the IRCTC website or app. The web portal was to open post 4 pm but the site hanged as a large number of people logged in to book the tickets. Watch report.
