Skateboards made of plastic bottle caps to promote recycling in Brazil
In Rio's Rocinha favela, a local project promotes recycling by giving food donations in exchange for bottle caps which are used to build skateboards. Na Laje Designs is a project created by Canadian mechanical engineer Arian Rayegani who moved to Rio de Janeiro before the start of the pandemic.

Philippine recycling company turn plastic waste into building planks
A group of recyclers in the Philippines are trying to tackle the country's soaring plastic waste crisis by turning bottles, single-use sachets and snack food wrappers that clog rivers and spoil beaches into building materials.

Environment Ministry suggests different models for re-using plastic pens
The NGT was hearing a petition filed by Avani Mishra, who has raised a grievance against the unchecked use of plastic pens having an adverse impact on the environment. It is submitted that 91 per cent of the plastic waste so generated is not recycled and 1600 to 2400 million pieces are brought to the market every year. Stating that the extended producers` liability is not being duly enforced, the applicant has suggested that the policy of `buy-back` be introduced.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) claimed on Sunday that it recycled about 8.80 tonnes of waste paper over a period of five months in order to contribute its bit to preserving the environment.
