Mumbai: Brushing aside rumours of selling her IPL cricket team Kings XI Punjab, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta said she will never go out of it completely.
"We were going to do a stake offload, a bit of it. But there was this random rumour (of selling it). I don`t think I will ever go out of it completely because it’s my baby. I have worked very hard for it. I have given my life to it. I can`t just wash my hands off it. But I think now it is settled and is in its own zone," Preity, who is currently hosting a TV show, said.
The dimpled beauty along with her ex-beau Ness Wadia and others acquired ownership rights in 2008 for the Mohali-based Twenty20 cricket team of the IPL. The team was bought by Zinta, Wadia and their business partner, Mohit Burmani, for USD 76 mn in the first season of the Indian Premier League.
There were rumours that shaken by the scrutiny by income tax and other officials, who came down heavily on former IPL Chief Lalit Modi, Preity and Ness were looking at offloading their stake in the team. Also, her cricket franchise ran into trouble with BCCI for faulty monetary transactions.
However, Preity and co-owner Ness were cleared of all allegations and now the chirpy actress is enjoying hosting `Guinness World Records: Ab India Todega` on Colors.
"I did the show because I loved the format and the channel adjusted the entire date schedule around me. I would not have been able to do the show had it been run during the IPL. I am very excited about the IPL," she said adding "after the show, I will be cheering for my team."
On whats next after IPL, the 36-year-old actress said, "After IPL…films. This year you will see me in films. I am doing movies...really cool ones. The announcement will come from producers."
