Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has slammed fans for ill- treating Blackburn boss Steve Kean.

London: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has slammed fans for ill- treating Blackburn boss Steve Kean.
"I have never seen anything as bad. For goodness sake, give the lad a break," Ferguson was quoted as saying in an interview.
Blackburn had barracked Kean after the team was defeated by Bolton on December 20. Kean, however, said he is willing to meet fans and added: “it would have to be in an environment which was, first and foremost, safe." Kean lauded the managers for supporting him. "I have to take direction from other people as far as health and safety, and making sure that if we do anything like that it is in the proper environment,” Kean said. "My phone`s been going hot all week with people phoning with messages saying ``Hang in there,” he added. Football club mangers including Tottenham’s Harry Redknapp, Everton`s David Moyes and Newcastle`s Alan Pardew have echoed Ferguson’s view. The League Managers`` Association (LMA) said the reaction of fans was "unacceptable". "The aggression and abuse over recent weeks has stepped well beyond the mark," a LMA statement said. ANI
