Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday held a Janta Darbar (public meeting) at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, his constituency. Scores of people converged at the Gorakhnath temple to meet the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and raise their complaints.

Among those visiting the Chief Minister was a triple talaq victim from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to mediapersons, she said that her husband had given her triple talaq over telephone and also threatened to kill her.

Demanding a law to stop such atrocities on women, she said that she come to the Janta Darbar to narrate her story to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Reports said that the Chief Minister not just listened to grievances of people, but also asked officials to ensure immediate action.

On April 1, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had addressed his first Janata Darbar session in Lucknow where he looked into issues concerning women, who had come with complaints about dowry and triple talaq.

Adityanath has said that he also learns from people of what they actually expect out of him.

In April itself, the Chief Minister had spoken to people on what schemes they wanted. Following this, in a Cabinet meeting on April 4, he took the decision to waive off farmer loans in Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi used to hold such darbar earlier too as the Mahant of Gorakhpur Mutt at the Gorakhnath temple and there he used to address concerns of residents of his Lok Sabha constituency.
