Our Pakistan policy consistent; rest on three key policy pillars: Sushma

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday said India never flip-floped on its Pakistan policy and New Delhi's response to cross-border attacks is in consonant with its three focused areas of engagements.

Sushma said the three pillars of India's Pakistan policy are resolving differences through talks, no third party intervention in the dialogue process and terror and dialogue cannot go side by side.

She said New Delhi's policy towards Pakistan has been “clear and consistent” and there has been no “flip-flop” in dealing with Islamabad.

She made the comments in response to a question whether India's stand on the talks are consistent and prejudiced by immediate turn of events.

“We have consistently followed our Pakistan policy; we extended our friendship; PM Modi's Lahore trip was out of the box.

“But within a week the Pathonkot happened; we cooperated with their JIT team but there has been no progress, probe stopped.

“And in spite of all these, our policy towards Pakistan has been consistent,” Sushma said in a press conference here to present the yearly report card of her ministry.
