Prabhas's 'Baahubali 2' inspires Rajinikanth's '2.0'? Here's how

New Delhi: Megastar Rajinikanth's much-awaited '2.0' is high on the buzz word. The film which brings Thalaiva and Bollywood's action superstar Akshay Kumar together for the first time ever on big screens is still not out with its release date.

Akki's another big release 'Padman' has comfortably taken January 26, 2018, slot. According to BollywoodLife.com, Rajinikanth's '2.0' might be following Prabhas's 'Baahubali 2'. How? We, tell you.

The report states that there is a possibility that '2.0' might actually book the April slot for film release. Interestingly, megahit magnum opus 'Baahubali 2' hit the screens in the same month this year. The report quotes a Bengaluru based film distributor, who told IB Times, “The next available big date for release is April 14, which coincides with the celebration of Tamil New Year. The examination season will be more or less over. So, the makers are apparently eyeing the holiday season for the release of 2.0. The makers seem to have understood the potential of releasing the film in April as family audience will be looking out opportunities to watch good movies in theatres. So, it will be a good decision to release 2.0 in April. Let’s not forget the film is rich in VFXs and kids will love to watch such film. Baahubali makers clearly understood this and released the second part in April.”

'2.0' is helmed by S Shankar and happen to be the first Indian film to be directly shot in 3D. It is a sequel to the superhit Tamil film Enthiran (2010), and features Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.

The film will be shot simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi.
