Mumbai: Blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty is gearing up for his next release - Simmba - starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan - for the first time. The film also marks his first association with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Ranveer will play a cop in the film that promises to be a complete masala entertainer. It will also mark the debut of Sara Ali Khan (daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh) in Bollywood.

The latest about the film is that the Golmaal series gang - Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade will do a cameo in the film. According to a report in After Hrs, Rohit wanted to have the four actors on board for a special scene in the film. They will be flying to Hyderabad to shoot for the scene.

The film will also have a scene featuring Bollywood's ultimate Singham - Ajay Devgn, reports suggest. Rohit and Ajay have been friends for long and have delivered hits like Singham, Singham Returns and the Golmaal franchise with 4 instalments.

Ranveer plays a police officer on screen for the first time, and it will be interesting to see him as Sangarm Bhalerao.

The film will release on December 28.
