New Delhi: Deepika Padukone- known for her perfect pins and toned body- is now reportedly going on a special diet to shed the extra pounds that she has gained to look her svelte best in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’.
According to a leading daily, the 27-year-old actress, who seemed to have squeezed herself in a figure hugging dress which revealed what looked like thunder thighs at the IPL opening ceremony, is now making sure that she is served a particular kind of food that she had during her last film-where she looked her best. "Maintaining an optimal weight and size is very crucial for Deepika who has been juggling three different kinds of roles in three of her upcoming films. She has to ensure that she fits into the costumes of Ram Leela that Anju Modi has designed for a schedule in Mumbai by the end of the month. But the fact that she has visibly added few inches to her girth has been brought up by her close friends as well," a source close to the actress said. Deepika’s friend also asserted that the diva is aware of the extra weight she has added on and is having a difficult time managing her diet, exercise routine and her busy schedule. "It`s been difficult for her, but she is aware of the extra inches she has added and is trying her best to keep it under check. She can`t take chances with Bhansali, who can be quite exacting when it comes to continuity - remember how he fired Ranveer Singh for trimming his moustache?" the star’s friend said. "Her assistant who is in charge of her diet chart has been told to get her the `Cocktail` diet," her friend added. This special ‘Cocktail’ diet includes a special cereal from South America- quinoa, and small meals in every two hours. The light diet with grilled chicken and fish in the menu will definitely not leave Deepika hungry!
