Beatles’ memorabilia up for auction

A collection of Beatles memorabilia owned by George Harrison``s family is expected to sell for six figures when it goes under the hammer next month.

London: A collection of Beatles memorabilia owned by George Harrison``s family is expected to sell for six figures when it goes under the hammer next month.
The items include a leather jacket he bought during the band`s stint in Hamburg, which he wore on stage in Germany and at the Cavern Club, a leading daily has reported.
It is expected to sell for around £120,000 at Bonhams’ forthcoming Entertainment Memorabilia sale in London on December 12. The collection, which has never been available to the general public, was gifted by George to his brother Harry and other members of the family. A pair of George`s custom made leather ``Beatle`` boots, synonymous with the band`s style at the height of Beatlemania in 1964 will be offered with an estimate of 12,000 - 15,000 pounds. A guitar owned by fellow Beatle Sir Paul McCartney in the 1950s will also be sold with an estimated price of 30,000 pounds. ANI
