New Delhi: In life we pay for most of the things we use, even for the simplest and smallest things such as newspaper, internet, toiletries or books. But what if we told you that some of these simple things of life can be avail for free?

What a surprise that would be! Right?

Well! Here are few simple things that could be avail free of cost without having to spend any penny on them.

• Books and eBooks: For avid readers, books are a must. But do you really have to buy them all the time, either from book stores or online? Not really! Just make use of your local libraries. Most localities and societies these days have libraries which is a great place to read. And considering the standard of reading amongst the people, these libraries are also equipped with the latest and best of books.

• Newspapers: Love to read newspapers? But do you really have to subscribe on a monthly basis and pay for it when you can actually read it for free? How? Online is the easiest and first option. Besides, most of the national dailies today have mobile apps where news are faster than papers. Moreover, if you are working with any good company, newspapers are subscribed for sure. Take the opportunity and enjoy reading it, free of cost.

• Computer software: In the modern world of technology, computer software are updated almost every quarter or a new software available in the market every now and then. But there is no real need to buy them all the time as the internet world is filled with free programs and software for computers. There are alternatives to Microsoft Office, free anti-virus programs, free photo editors, etc.

• Movies: For the movie-buffs, renting the latest or your favourite film is not always an option considering the cost that it involves. So, what are the options? Free premiers and film festivals are some of the options to enjoy good movies, though not always the latest in case of film festivals. And then there is the internet where one finds ample amount of free movies online.

• Magazines: Strange but one can sure enjoy reading magazines for free. While libraries are one option, online is another option too. Popular magazines related to women, home, hobbies, music, etc. are available online or in the libraries. Besides, if you are one of those working in corporate houses, there are copies of house issues that you can sure enjoy.

• Toiletries and make-ups: Funny as it may sound but one will accept the fact that various companies do give out new product samples for try-outs. Sampoo and cream sachets come attached to newspapers for trials. A good collection of these products can help safe a good amount of cash for sure.
