Zoya’s casting coup; Ranbir-Kareena in her next!

Mumbai: This can easily be termed as the biggest casting coup of the year. According to a tabloid, Zoya Akhtar has managed to cast two of the country’s biggest stars in her next film. First cousins Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have agreed to play the lead roles in Zoya’s next. Ever since Ranbir made his entry in the film industry, the actor as well as Kareena has been hounded by questions about their plans of starring together in a film. Kareena has even cheekily said, that how she can’t possibly be romancing her younger brother on screen and has always maintained that if they find a good script, she would love to work with her first cousin. News has it that the film will see Ranbir and Kareena sharing screen space as brother and sister and they both will play the protagonists in the film. Zoya has been working hard on the script for sometime now and has managed to convince Ranbir and Kareena only recently to play the lead roles. Speaking to the tabloid, a source said, "Both Ranbir and Kareena were always aware that they couldn`t pair romantically for any film. So for them to come together for any project, it needed to have an extraordinary script. Zoya narrated the idea to Kareena while she was shooting for ‘Talaash’. Kareena immediately loved it. Ranbir too has given it his consent. The film will now go on floors by the end of this year," said the source. "Zoya will be reviving the brother-sister relationship genre. And she has now managed to cast real life siblings Ranbir and Kareena for it," added the source. Their fathers, Rishi and Randhir were only recently cast in a film together (Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull2’) for the first time. The two actors played warring half brothers in the film which is quite contrary to the relationship they share in real life. Now that their kids are all set to play siblings in a film, is it a new era of Kapoor bonding? Only time will tell.
