Mumbai: Nothing else could have made ‘Thalaivar’ aka Rajinikanth happier for sure as his fan club in Bangalore decided to bring smiles on the faces of the poor and the needy.
The superstar, who spent his early days in the Karnataka capital, has a huge fan club in the city, which decided to mark his birthday for social service. Ambulla Rajinikanth fan club performed milk abhishek on a poster of the magnanimous star. Talking to DNA, Selvakumar, a diehard fan of Rajini said, “It was a 25 feet Rajinikanth poster. We used 20 litres of milk for the occasion and distributed 50 kg of food to the needy. We cut a 63kg cake and watched a Rajinikanth film. I don’t remember what film we saw, but I can tell you it was great.” Another fan club of Rajini , Vinmulaga Chakravarthy Rajinikanth’s Fan’s Welfare Association in KS Garden celebrated the day with cake, dancing and contribution to a good cause. “We do something different every year. We’ve donated blood, volunteered at hospitals and given free food to the needy,” said Velu the secretary of the club. Free dinner was also organised for the needy. A crazy fan of the actor has also inked the star’s image on his chest. Expressing his love for Rajini, Francis said, “When Rajini fell sick, we all went to the nearby temple, the masjid and the church to pray. We also shaved our heads in penance. He fell sick because he was working. We want him to rest now. We fans have enough films to live on.”
