New Delhi: The music of upcoming comedy ‘Fukrey’ was launched in a unique style at a college with producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani riding bicycles to reach the stage with a band playing alongside.
Music director Ram Sampat performed on two tracks from the film at the event with debutant singer Amjad.
Since there is a scene in the film, where the lead actors arrive on a horse on the first day of their college, the gesture was repeated at the music launch last night. Actors Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Ali Fazal and Varun, the official "Fukras" in the film arrived riding the horses. Seeing the actors enjoying their horse ride, Akhtar remarked, "The budget of the movie is so big that we invested everything in it. So with the left over money, we could only afford horses." ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye’ star Singh seemed to enjoy his horse ride but Varun and Pulkit were scared. The lead actresses of the film- Richa Chadda, Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh arrived on the stage dancing on the beats of the dhol. Sampat`s wife and singer Sona Mohapatra performed the punjabi song "Kacchi Kaliyan Naa Todh" at the launch. "I have had most fun while making the music for the film. My last film `Talaash` had one joke and this film has one serious scene," Sampat said. The music launch at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharam College ended with the stars performing the trademark "fukrey" dance from the film. On public demand, Akhtar also performed his smashing hit "Rock On" from the film "Rock On". The film has been shot in Delhi`s Chandi Chowk, Delhi University campus among other areas.
