Pete Doherty’s New Year resolution – to give up drugs

Washington, Jan 01: Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has vowed to stay away from drugs in the New Year.

The troubled British rocker has had a well-publicised battle with substance abuse and has been fighting addictions to heroin and crack cocaine since 2003. He was locked up at London`s Wormwood Scrubs prison in May (08), serving 29 days of his 14-week sentence for probation violation relating to his previous drug and driving offences. However, Doherty has now vowed to give up drugs. "I`m sick of going around in circles. I`m clean now and I`m going to stay that way this year - apart from the fags and the booze,” Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. ANI
