Los Angeles: Dr Conrad Murray, the physician accused of involuntarily murdering pop icon Michael Jackson, is not asking fans for support on the popular micro-blogging website Twitter, his lawyer has clarified.
The lawyer dismissed said that the embattled physician is not on the website and the posts were made by an impostor, reported a news website.
On Monday, Murray pleaded not guilty to a count of involuntary manslaughter relating to Jackson`s death. He remains free on a USD 75,000 bail.
Within 24 hours of the hearing, a user logged on to the website under the name DrConradMurray and pleaded for support.
"Please consider that I too am a father, do not judge or condemn me until you have walked in my shoes. Please pray for my family," read one of his postings.
But Murray`s lawyer insists the postings are "100 per cent fake".
"Murray doesn`t even have a smart phone," said the lawyer.
Murray stands accused of administering the powerful anaesthetic Propofol which killed Jackson.
