Fashion, film and cricket at Manish Malhotra`s show

New Delhi, Mar 20: Bollywood, sports and fashion all mingled to create one glamorous event during the Manish Malhotra show at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week here. Cricketers Aakaash Chopra and Murli Karthik strutted out in golden coloured cricket helmets while Bollywood stars Amrita Rao and Sophie Chowdhury cheered from the front row.

The show, designed to pay tribute to the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders` kicked off with the team`s anthem "Korbo Ladbo Jeetbo Re." Malhotra, the official designer of the team and a close friend of the team`s owner actor Shahrukh Khan showcased ensembles in the Knight Riders` official colours of black and gold. "It was extremely sweet of Aakaash and Murli to model for me, and I thank them for that. I am also designing for both Amrita and Sophie in upcoming films and the idea of the entire collection and the show was to have fun," said Malhotra. The designer known for transforming starlets like Urmila Matondkar and Karishma Kapoor into screen godesses, is now giving Amrita Rao a makeover in the film "Shortcut." "I am very excited for the film as it presents me in a completely new way," said Rao, while Malhotra quipped in saying, "She will blow your minds away,I saw the first rushes, and she is looking hot and some of the credit goes to me."
