One of such performer is Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The American actor who kick-started his career with television commercials and serials has finally landed himself an Oscar for Best Actor – a feat he had been waiting all his life for. So much so that, every now and then, the tabloid flushed out news of just how broken he should be, along with his wide fan following, if he fails to walk home with an Oscar for this years – 'The Revenant'.

Well, he has finally won the Oscar. And as we still rejoice the actor's grand win at the 88th Academy Awards – here's a sneak peek into the some of his best movies, every time DiCaprio made us think aloud, yes – this man definitely deserves an Oscar some day.

This Boy's Life:

A young Leonardo plays the role of a rebellious son and the tempestuous relationship with his abusive father – effectively portrayed by Robert De Niro.

What's Eating Gilbert Grape:

Again, a teenage Leonardo showed his mettle in this Lasse Hallstrom's family drama. He portrays the role of young Arnie who has classic autism. Such powerful acting!

Total Eclipse:

Based on 1967 play by Christopher Hampton – this movie showed the passionate and stormy relationship between two french poets depicted by David Thewlis and Leonardo Dicaprio.

The Basketball Diaries:

You will be stunned to see the gamut of versatility Leonardo is capable of executing. A coming of age drama based on teenager falling in the traps of drug addiction. The angst is so palpable in Leo's eyes.

Romeo + Juliet:

That he can play a superb lover boy was pretty imminent way before 'Titanic' came along. The Shakespeare drama has been given an urban touch and executed skillfully with DiCaprio as lead actor.

Titanic:

DiCaprio impressed us all with his boyish charms in this James Cameron blockbuster. He starred opposite Hollywood actress Kate Winslet and this was a hero – all girls wanted to have, even if he died in the end.

The Aviator:

Depicting aviator Howard Hughes career in the 1920s – Leonardo's talent came to fore in this Martin Scorsese film and he was praised by many for his brute and realistic acting.

Catch Me If You Can:

Playing the true character of a conman who duped many – Oscar was knocking at Leonardo ever since some of his best came to fore in the cinematic world.

Blood Diamond:

If you are a Leonardo fan and missed this one – you truly missed the diamond. Terrific performance by DiCaprio fetched his nomination, but no he didn't go home with an Oscar.

The Wolf of Wall Street:

Again, a gift to movie lovers in the form of DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese. Portraying the life of Jordan Belfort, DiCaprio proved us yet again what he can do. A total favourite of many!
