Raj Thackeray’s MNS threatens to 'beat up' those who work with Pakistani actors: Report

Mumbai: Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has now threatened to beat those who work with Pakistani actors.

According to Firstpost, the MNS not only threatened to distrupt the release of films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees but also beat up those who work with actors from across the border.

Both Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan have Pakistani artists in their films Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Raees respectively. Fawad Khan, who made his debut with Sonam Kapoor’s ‘Khoobsurat’ has a small but significant part to play in ADHM which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma while ‘Raees’ will introduce Mahira Khan to Bollywood next year.

A few days back, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) had passed a unanimous resolution at the annual general meeting, urging all their members to stop working with Pakistani artists, singers or technicians until the hostilities between India and Pakistan subside. Bollywood stands divided on this issue even today which one section defending Pakistani artists and the other opposing them.

There was a strong anti-Pakistan wave following the Uri terror attack that killed 19 Indian soldiers. In such a scenario, the outrage was against Pakistani artists who did not condemn the brutal terror attack on India by Pakistan.
