Diwali Makeup tips

Conceal your dark circles and any imperfections that require coverage.

The time after Dusshera, leading up to the big festival of lights Diwali definitely involves hosting and attending multiple parties. This calls for experimenting with different makeup and hair looks. Beauty Expert and Founder Director of Alps Cosmetic Clinic, Bharti Taneja, decodes mantras for the perfect look to look glamorous at the next card parties you attend!
For your Face: Conceal your dark circles and any imperfections that require coverage. Keep the base light with the help of a mousse. It gives you a fast and easy coverage without use of powder. Fill cheekbone hollows with a blush darker than your skin tone to get a chiselled look. Further, apply champagne gold blush to highlight cheekbones to get a radiant look.
Smokey Eyes: Beautifully done eyes are the focal point of any look you wish to flaunt. Therefore, special attention must be given to eye makeup. Start by spreading black eyeshadow on the upper lid along with some glitter. Lots of mascara and kaajal pencil on the inner rim are must. Double dose of mascara or a generous helping of liquid liner will further intensify the eye. Permanent curling of eyelashes will make them appear longer and sensual. You can also consider r getting permanent makeup like a permanent kaajal, eyebrows that last for 15 years. Lip Lock: Nude lips have now given way to light colours like salmon-pink or petal-pink for a soft look. Since, the eyes are overemphasised, you can go with softer lips during the day and night, and it suits all skin tones. Also, a touch of clear gloss will uplift your look a little. Other colours for the season are dark and bright hues like hot pinks and rich corals. Hair Play: This is the time to indulge in your best outfit and trinkets. But, your whole look depends on the hairstyle you choose. Go in for either straight hair or soft curls. Experiment with a side braid, top chignon or a stylish pouffe. Bejewelled hair accessories that match or contrast your outfits are super glamorous this season. What you can also do is go in for hair colouring or streaking. If you shy away from permanently colouring your hair, then buy hair extensions in different colours like red or ash gold so you can change your look for every party, sometimes matching or contrasting your outfits. Nail Effect: Draw attention to your nails while you are playing cards. Thus, the need for perfect nails arises. Go in for nail extensions to have a decent length. Then, dress them up in a French manicure with hints of peach, pink or black tips. If you are not too enthusiastic about changing nail paints every day, then indulge in semi-permanent nail paints that last you up to a month. 3D nail art can dress up your nails with cute accessories like bows, swarovskis etc. Hope you take a cue from these to look irresistibly glamorous at the next Diwali cards get-together with your friends and family!
