Right then, England have the momentum and will aim to carry it into their batting effort as they start their chase. While the pacers struggled with pace on, the spinners and pacers using variations were more effective. Australia will be on the hunt for early wickets and will have to adapt quickly to the conditions. Back in a bit for the chase.
However, England clawed their way back into the game in stunning fashion. At 118/2 after 10 overs, Australia looked set for a total well beyond 200. But the introduction of Liam Livingstone turned the tide for England. It wasnât just Englandâs fightback - it was also Australiaâs undoing, as some questionable shot selections allowed the hosts back into the contest. From a strong position of 132/3, Australia lost their way, lost their next 7 wickets for just 47 runs and failed to bat out the
Earlier, Phil Salt chose to bowl first, hoping to exploit any moisture left on the pitch from the rain. However, the English pacers struggled to find the right lines and lengths, and Australia made them pay for it. Matthew Short started it all, and Travis Head then simply dismantled the English pace attack with a 19-ball fifty. With 86 runs on the board by the end of the Powerplay, Australia had laid a strong foundation to capitalise on.
Wow! What an incredible fightback from England! After Australia dominated the Powerplay, not many would have seen this coming. The turnaround began with Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone's efforts in the middle overs, and it was capped off by some exceptional death bowling from Jofra Archer and Saqib Mahmood.

Right then, England have the momentum and will aim to carry it into their batting effort as they start their chase. While the pacers struggled with pace on, the spinners and pacers using variations were more effective. However, England clawed their way back into the game in stunning fashion. At 118/2 after 10 overs, Australia looked set for a total well beyond 200. Earlier, Phil Salt chose to bowl first, hoping to exploit any moisture left on the pitch from the rain. However, the English pacers struggled to find the right lines and lengths, and Australia made them pay for it. Matthew Short started it all, and Travis Head then simply dismantled the English pace attack with a 19-ball fifty. With 86 runs on the board by the end of the Powerplay, Australia had laid a strong foundation to capitalise on.
