Hoffman turns gambler for TV show

Los Angeles: Hollywood`s veteran actor Dustin Hoffman is heading to the small screen for a new mini series playing a gambling addict.Hoffman has taken a role in US network HBO`s new show `Luck`, which tells the tale of men who are horse-racing enthusiasts, Variety online reported.

The actor will play a pensioner who is recently released from jail and has a passion for gambling. Dennis Farina and John Ortiz will also star in the new series, which is set to hit US screens next year. It isn`t Hoffman`s first foray into TV. He won an Emmy in 1986 for his role in TV film `Death of a Salesman`. PTI
