Govind Nagar Election result 2022: The assembly election result for the Govind Nagar Vidhan Sabha constituency that falls in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur (South) are currently awaited. So far, BJP's Surendra Maithani is ahead in Kanpur's Govind Nagar seat.

The constituency that’s in the south district of Kanpur has been largely dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party, however, Congress has also won it thrice after 1977.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Satyadev Pachauri won from Kanpur Lok Sabha (MP) seat with a margin of 155934 votes by defeating Sriprakash Jaiswal from the Indian National Congress.

From the BJP camp, incumbent MLA Surendra Maithani is contesting for 2022 elections from the Govind Nagar Vidhan Sabha seat.

The Indian National Congress has fielded Karishma Thakur, 26, who was the runner up in the last assembly elections.

From Samajwadi Party (SP) Vikas Yadav has contested the polls for the Govind Nagar constituency while the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) has fielded Ashok Kumar against the rivals.

BJP has fielded Surendra Maithani from the Govind Nagar seat. He has assumed control of the constituency in 2019 after Satya Dev Pachauri, who defeated Karishma Thakur of the Indian National Congress (INC) with a margin of 21,244 votes, was pulled in for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Maithani has two criminal cases pending against him.

The seat has been held by the BJP since 2012.

Younger Congress leader Karishma Thakur has been nominated by the party to take on Surendra Maithani in the 2022 polls from the Govind Nagar seat.

She lost the 2017 assembly elections to BJP with a margin of over 20,000 votes.

From the Samajwadi Party camp, Vikas Yadav has contested against the BJP and Congress.  has been fielded against the BJP and Congress.

As per the EC nomination filing, Vikas Yadav is a post-graduate by qualification and has one criminal case reported against is name.

Mayawati’s Bahujan Samajwadi Party has fielded Ashok Kumar, 58, for the 2022 assembly elections. According to his nomination filing, he has studied till class 10.

AAP candidate from Kidwai Nagar Vidhan Sabha constituency

AAP has nominated Kawardeep Singh as its candidate for the 2022 assembly elections and he is a graduate by qualification.
