Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon. 

A gunfire erupted after security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Mattan area at Lonepora village Anantnag today following information about presence of terrorists in the region. 

A report said that as security forces were closing in, they come under the fire from the terrorists. 

A 'Times Now' report said that at least two-three terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area. 

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir authorities suspended the mobile and internet services in the Anantnag district as a precautionary measure.
