A village in Madhya Pradesh where kids are 'rented' to gangs to steel from glitzy weddings in metros!

Bhopal: Residents of Pachor, Gulkhedi – two villages in Madhya Pradesh - are under lens for 'renting' their kids to gangs that strike at glitzy weddings in Delhi and other big cities and go in hiding.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, it has now come to light that most of the young members of the gang that strike at glitzy weddings in the metros come from these villages.

Ongoing investigation by the authorities have revealed that the residents of these villages actually 'rent' their kids to these gangs which train them in the art of stealing.

After their training is over, these kids are sent to strike at major weddings in big cities.

Investigations carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Police have revealed that residents of village Kadiya, in Pachor district of Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, 300 km from Bhopal, have been ‘renting’ their children to ‘Band, Baja, Barat’ gangs, which steal from glitzy weddings in Metropolitan cities.

Investigations in various cases have led police to these villages, where parents sign contracts with the gang members to send their children with them in return for an annual fee of Rs 2- 5 lakh.

Over the past four months, 86 police teams from different states have visited Pachor to trace suspects and arrest gang members who hire them. 

In April, the Delhi Police attributed 34 thefts at lavish weddings to minors, including those from Pachor. 

The latest case was reported on July 3, in which a minor allegedly stole a bag containing gifts and Rs 8 lakh cash from a wedding venue in southwest Delhi.

Investigations show that over 11 minors left the village in the last three months with the gangs for “job training”.
