Massive fire breaks out in Bhiwandi godowns, 50 workers rescued

Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in Bhiwani's Sagar Compound on Wednesday and as many as 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Over 50 people were rescued from 16 godowns in the initial part of operations.

While the cause of fire is as yet unknown, fire officials have said that 50 people were rescued and brought to safety after smoke engulfed godowns. Fire-fighting has become difficult due to smoke inside the structures here and fire officials have said that operations are expected to last well into the night.
