An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday near the Champhai region in Mizoram, said the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The NCS also said that the tremors were felt at 27 km South South-West of Champhai at 8:08 pm.

On July 24, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale took place near Champhai in Mizoram.

No injuries to people or destruction of properties were reported.
