New Delhi: Here is a Ramnavami and
`Baisakhi` gift from the Airport Express Line to its
commuters.
In a bid to further popularise its services, the Reliance
Infra-led consortium, which is operating the high-speed link,
is offering 50 per cent discount on fares to its commuters
on Tuesday and on Thursday.
The tokens will be available on discounted rates on these
two days. Currently, the minimum fare on the Line is Rs 20,
while the maximum is Rs 80.
Commuters will have to shell out only 50 per cent of the
fare on Ramnavami and Baisakhi days and the move is aimed at
facilitating passengers to visit the Hanuman Temple and
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a spokesman for the company said.
Shivaji Stadium station on the Airport line is located
near the Hanuman Temple and the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.
"This discounted festive fare offer will encourage people
to take the most convenient route of Airport Metro Express,
avoiding the traffic jam and minimizing travel time
and cost," the spokesperson said.
"We are offering special discounted fare on the occasion
of Ramnavami and Baisakhi. We are hopeful that this festive
offer will benefit our commuters and ease their travel on
these auspicious days," the spokesperson said.
Smart-card holders will also be benefitted by this
festive offer.
The Airport Express Line, train on which runs at a speed
of 105 km per hour, carries over 7,000 passengers everyday and
runs from am to 11 pm.
