SASTRA University holds workshop

Thanjavur: The need for integrating functions of various government agencies besides importance of real time data collection and analysis has been highlighted at a workshop here.

The workshop on 'Smart City - Challenges and Opportunities,' was organised by the SASTRA University at Thirumalaisamudram near here yesterday.

Jose Polackal, industry leader for Government and Education Process, IBM, Bengaluru, highlighted the need for integrating the functions of various government agencies to successfully implement smart city projects.

Simon Selvaraj, Assistant Director, JLL Property, consultant for Tiruchi Smart City Project, explained the various stages of the project.

Private investment would be attracted to support government funding, he added.

More than 100 delegates participated in the workshop, organised by The Centre for Development Studies, attached to the School of Management, SASTRA University.
