Film actor admitted to hospital with a slashed wrist

Kochi,Feb 12: Malayalam film actor Vijayakumar, who was being questioned by police in connection with a theft case was admitted to a hospital here after he allegedly slashed his wrist during the questioning.Vijaykumar, currently being treated at a private hospital, was stated to be out of danger, hospital sources said.

Vijayakumar was brought to the Sunrise Hospital at Kakkanad last night by the police with a "self" inflicted wound on his left wrist. He was admitted to ICU. His condition is stable and he is likely to be shifted to the room later today, the sources said. The actor was detained by the police for questioning in connection with a case of a four-member gang snatching Rs 25 lakh from his driver Henry at Kalamassery two days ago. A thorough investigation will be done as there is strong suspicion on the source of money, police said. Vijayakumar had allegedly slashed his wrist while being interrogated at the Assistant Commissioner`s office at nearby Thrikkakkara last night.
