Gordon Brown praises Jade Goody for her courage

London, Feb 19: Prime Minister Gordon Brown has praised cancer stricken reality TV star Jade Goody for her courage and determination in fighting the disease, politics.co.uk. reported. The former Big Brother contestant who faced public criticism for her racist remarks against fellow contestant and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, has been given only months to live by doctors after an initial diagnosis of cervical cancer that spread to her bowel, liver and groin.

Brown said, "It`s very sad and tragic that someone so young has this disease of cancer and that the treatment she has been given has not been successful. Her determination to help her family is something I applaud. I wish her well, and I know the whole country will be anxious about her health." Ironically, Goody got the news of her illness while she was in India to participate in the Indian version of `Big Brother` in an effort to rectify her image. Goody is now all set to to marry boyfriend Jack Tweed, this weekend in a ceremony, which will be shown live on television and the star has also struck a million dollar deal with a magazine for the exclusive pictures of the wedding.
