Congress, not Modi govt, has failed: Smriti Irani on Sonia's 'hawabaazi' jibe

New Delhi: Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani on Tuesday said Congress President Sonia Gandhi`s `hawabaazi` remark on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, indicated their own failures and their desire to hide it.

"Today the Congress President took the help of the PM`s name to guide her failed organisation in order to hide the failure of the policies of a failed organisational leadership," Irani told media here.

"Congress leaders fighting for farmers today, often forget that in Rahul Gandhi`s constituency (Amethi), lands of farmers were usurped," she added.

"Give me the name of a mother who pats the back of her son for taking the land of poor farmers," she said.

She said the Congress Party wants to put nation`s development on the backfoot.
