New Delhi: When the nation is talking women empowerment and revolutionary programs like Beti bachao beti Padao, the women belonging to the Perna community living in Premnagar and Dharmshala area of Najafgarh in Delhi, are still following the tradition of forced prostitution.
The women of this particular community are forced into flesh trade by their in-laws. They term it as a custom, which should be followed.
Since childhood, the girls of this community are made to believe that it's ok to be prostituted by their husbands or in-laws.
The women of this community have accepted that their life after marriage would be like a prostitute and without complain they comply with the orders of their in-laws and husbands. They are also referred to as ‘husband’s prostitute’.
While explaining her ordeal to Scoop Whoop, a woman of Perna community said, they try to stay away from police as they don't provide protection, instead demand free sex and also take away the money.
