President greets Russia on National Day

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday greeted the government and people of the Russian Federation ahead of their National Day on Friday.

"It is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to your excellency and to the government and people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 'Day of Russia'," the president said in a message to Vladimir V Putin, president of the Russian Federation.

"I was honoured to participate in the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War and was happy to have the opportunity of wide-ranging discussions with you on our bilateral relations."
