Three-year-old Vaishnavi Dixit, family excited by PM Relief Fund response

Dinesh Kumar Dixit, the father of three-year-old Vaishnavi Dixit, said his daughter and the rest of the family were excited to receive a response from the office of the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for contributing a cheque of Rs 500 for Nepal's earthquake victims.

Varanasi: Dinesh Kumar Dixit, the father of three-year-old Vaishnavi Dixit, said his daughter and the rest of the family were excited to receive a response from the office of the Prime Minister's Relief Fund and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for contributing a cheque of Rs 500 for Nepal's earthquake victims.

"So, we sent a draft of Rs500 to the PM Relief Fund. And, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) very graciously responded to it by thanking our daughter for her contribution and wishing her a bright future. We thank the Prime Minister for his well wishes. After receiving this letter, we feel more encouraged. I feel it will also be an inspiration for others too," Dinesh Dixit told ANI here.

Earlier in April, Vaishnavi Dixit and her family had donated some money to the PM Relief Fund to not only provide aid to the Nepal quake-hit families of Varanasi, but also create awareness among people to come forth to help in times of crisis.

Tremors of the April 25 earthquake in Nepal were felt throughout Delhi and parts of Eastern and Northern India. According the Government of Nepal, the death toll was in excess of 8000 and the injured were over 14000.
