Jammu: An uneasy calm prevailed on the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in Jammu on Wednesday, a day after eight civilians were killed and 24 injured in Pakistan targeting of civilian facilities.
Firing was also not reported from the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri district on Wednesday.
"There was no crossborder shelling or firing anywhere on the IB or the LoC during the night," police said.
While six civilians were killed in Ramgarh sector, two others were killed in Naushera in the indiscriminate targeting of civilians areas by Pakistani troops on Tuesday.
Border Security Force officials said on Tuesday that in a counter offensive, it destroyed all 14 outposts of Pakistan from where shelling and firing on civilian areas were carried out.
