NR announces trains cancellation, termination following blast

New Delhi, Oct 27: The Northern Railway today announced cancellation and termination en route of several trains following last night's bomb blast in Delhi-bound Shalimar Express.

Shalimar Express.

Shalimar Express between Jammu and New Delhi along with
the return service, Jammu Tawi-Ferozpur Express and Archana
Express between Jammu Tawi and Pathankot would remain
cancelled today, NR said in a press release.

Jhelum Express and Himgiri Express from Jammu Tawi have
also been cancelled.

Delhi-Jammu Tawi Pooja Express, New Delhi-Jammu Tawi
special train, Sealdah-Jammu Tawi Express, Jammu Mail,
Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express and Muri Express will be
terminated at various stations, the release said.

Meanwhile, a Jammu report said the restoration work at
the site was in progress and the traffic would resume soon.

All the coaches except those derailed have been brought
to Jammu by using another engine, Jammu station manager said.

Efforts are on to shift the derailed coaches and make
way for the traffic after repairing nearly half a kilometer of
track damaged due to the explosion, he said.

Six bogies and the engine of Shalimar express derailed
following the blast at village Sargal in Kathua district.
