Sofia Vergara to host `Saturday Night Live`

New York: Sofia Vergara expressed on the social networks her enthusiasm over her upcoming outing as host of ‘Saturday Night Live’, which will be broadcast April 7.

Vergara, who has achieved several goals in her career as a model and actress, now adds being the host of the popular comedy programme, which was launched Oct 11, 1975. "I`m so glad it is officially announced: I can now freely express my excitement about @SofiaVergara hosting SNL on April7!," the Colombian-born actress said on Twitter. "Si se pudo" (Yes, We Could) was what Vergara, who portrays "Gloria Delgado" on the popular and award-winning ABC comedy series "Modern Family" said elsewhere on her Facebook page. The SNL episode hosted by Vergara will feature boy band One Direction as musical guests. Vergara last year became the spokesperson in the US for the CoverGirl cosmetics company, as well as coming out with a women`s clothing and accessories line for Kmart and being the star of a Pepsi advertising campaign.
