National Safety Science Quiz to be held

A National Safety Science Quiz is being organised by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in partnership with a private safety science firm during the month of September-October, a statement said on Thursday.

Kolkata: A National Safety Science Quiz is being organised by the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) in partnership with a private safety science firm during the month of September-October, a statement said on Thursday. The quiz will be centred on subjects of electrical, fire, road, environment and food safety issues, with the aim of boosting awareness among school students. Birla Industrial and Technological Museum, Kolkata stated that this is the first time a quiz on Safety Science is being conducted at a national level. It is aimed to have an immense educational and experiential impact. The establishment comes under NCSM. Students from classes 9-12 can participate. Preliminary rounds of written tests will be held in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore simultaneously on September 21 at 11 a.m. "The top six students from each of the five cities will be invited to participate for further rounds to the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), Bangalore in the last week of Oct 2014," said the statement.
