Pak Reuters' bureau chief Maria Golovnina found dead in Islamabad

Maria Golovnina, a foreign journalist working with Reuters was found dead in Islamabad, on Monday.

Islamabad/New Delhi: Maria Golovnina, a foreign journalist working with Reuters was found dead in Islamabad, on Monday.

She was a Russian-Japanese and had been working with Reuters as bureau chief for Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Maria had been working in the region for the past year-and-a-half.

Her body was found in Islamabad’s Sector-F neighbourhood today.

Though, her cause of death is not known as yet, some media reports said that Maria's death had occurred due to natural causes.

Reports also said that the journalist fell unconscious and was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

Later she was declared dead there.
