Woman cop kills herself with pistol in TN

Madurai: A 31-year-old woman constable allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself with a service pistol while on duty at a local police station around mid-night last night.

Police said Karupayee shot herself in the head at Naganakulam police station near T.Kallupatti.

Initial investigation revealed that Karupayee's husband, an army soldier, whom she married seven years ago,had quarrelled with her yesterday,and had refused to join the Army again though his leave had ended, police said.

Karupayee had taken the extreme step upset over the attitude of her husband, who had also become a drunkard, police said.
