Online registrations open for new Toyota Fortuner

Toyota is out with vengeance to regain lost ground in India’s SUV space, with its all-new Fortuner. And after being spotted at dealerships recently, the car is now inviting registrations for interested buyers through the company’s website.

The company had already confirmed the launch date for the ‘most coveted’ Fortuner as November 7 and the new ‘register’ tab will assist you to gain access to buying details by entering your basic information (name, contact details and the dealership of your preference).

As mentioned earlier, the car was spotted at dealerships, in Ahmedabad, ahead of its official unveiling. Donning resplendent black hues, the mule featured sleek headlamps with LED DRLs and a heavy dose of chrome around the fog lamps and front grille. The lines along the sides add to the car’s masculinity that is further accentuated by gargantuan 18-inch alloys.

Under the hood, the car is expected to come with the same set of machinery as the company’s Innova Crysta MPV that was launched earlier this year. A choice could be offered between the 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre mills on the diesel Fortuner while in its petrol guise, the car is likely to get the 2.7-litre Dual VVT-i unit.

Power will be transmitted through either a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed automatic that is seen mated with the 2.8-litre engine on the Innova Crysta. In terms of competition, the all-new Toyota Fortuner will muscle it out with the likes of the Ford Endeavour and the Chevrolet Trailblazer in the country’s SUV segment.
