UP police arrest two criminals for robbing train passengers

The Uttar Pradesh Police and Railway Protection Force in a joint exercise arrested two criminals on Wednesday on charges of robbing passengers.

GREATER NOIDA: The Uttar Pradesh Police and Railway Protection Force in a joint exercise arrested two criminals on Wednesday on charges of robbing passengers.

As per reports, the arrested criminals had robbed passengers after halting a train by manipulating its signals. 

The two criminals of a gang had planted a rupee coin between the joints of railway tracks and manipulated green signals to turn red, forcing the drivers to apply breaks. 

Thereafter, they robbed the passengers at gunpoint in the rural area of Greater Noida, Dadri and Bulandshahr.

The two accused are residents of Bulandshahr and lived in a rented accommodation in Surajpur area. 

The accused have confessed their role in six cases of train robbery and snatching near Dadri railway station in the last six months. 

The accused were produced in the court and sent to judicial custody.
