Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (July 16) inaugurate and dedicate to the nation a host of projects worth over Rs 1,100 crore, including a mesmerising Aquatic Gallery, said Gujarat government officials on Friday.

The Aquatic Gallery is built at an estimated cost of Rs 264 crore.

The gallery is sprawled over an area of over 15,000 square metre.
India's largest aquarium
The Aquatic Gallery, built at a cost of Rs 260 crore in the Science City, is India's largest aquarium having 68 large tanks to display marine life from across the world, including reef sharks, alligator gar, Koi and black pacu fish among others.
Gallery to display marine life from across the world
In all, the aquarium has around 11,600 fishes and marine animals of 188 different species.
Underwater walkway tunnel
One of the attractive features of this gallery is underwater walkway tunnel. The 28-meter-long tunnel has been built to watch marine species.
Acquatic Gallery inauguarated
The tunnel will have grey reef sharks, bonnethead sharks and zebra sharks.

Ahmedabad's Aquatic Gallery
Marinescape is expected to provide exhibit and technical support, and the Shapoorji Pallonji-Marinescape JV will be maintaining the gallery for a period of five years at least.
The Aquatic Gallery is 'expected to be the largest public aquarium in India,' according to an official statement from the Science City.
The other attractions are Global robotic gallery built at Rs 127 crore and a Nature Park built at Rs 14 crore.
